বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ফরিদপুর জেলার গোপালগঞ্জ মহকুমার পাটগাতি ইউনিয়নের টুঙ্গিপাড়া গ্রামে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। বর্তমান গোপালগঞ্জ জেলা সদরের দক্ষিণ - পশ্চিমে মধুমতি নদী। আর বাইগার নদীর তীর ঘেঁষে অবস্থিত টুঙ্গিপাড়া গ্রাম।
মধুমতির অসংখ্য শাখা নদীর একটি বাইগার নদী।
